Tapsee Pannu starrer new recent film Thappad may not have been a hit at the box office but has gained a lot of recognition among the audience. In the movie Thappad, Tapsee portrays the role of a woman who gets slapped by her husband at a party in front of a group of people.
Director Abhinav Sinha known for his films like Mulk and Article 15 is again been applauded for depicting a social issue on a big screen. Thappad is getting a lot of recognition from the audiences and also from celebrities on social media. Abhinav Sinha is to be honored IFTDA for the success of the film.
The Movie following a reasonable first seven days made 22.79 crores, the film was suspected to earn less money in the second end of the week because of the arrival of Baaghi 3 yet it kept on earning more money than expected.
Director Anubhav Sinha has gone on a Twitter assault against Box Office India. The website’s Twitter handle posted a statement on how much Thappad had made by its second Friday in cinemas. the heading of the report was
“Audience gives TIGHT SLAP to Thappad”.
The Director wrote, “And I love you too… in har*****don ne filmon ka kotha bana diya hai (these b**tards have turned filmmaking into brothel business). Last I checked it was an art form. My money. My movie. My profit. My loss. Who the f*ck are you? Have I issued any public shares? Have you bought any??? Go watch the film. Like it. Hate it. Your call (sic),”
“These motherf***rs seem to get my collections before me. Just for general awareness, I get my collections in 2-3 days. Before that whatever they put out is sheer speculation and their sweet desire.” Sinha tweeted.
Sinha later realized that his behavior wasn’t fair on social media when some of the Twitter users called him out for improper social media conduct. He then apologized for what he said to the ladies, elders, and children on his timeline.
“My apologies for my language ladies. Sincerely. It is the love of those 150 people who made Thappad for the film that was being disrespected that shot me off. Apologies to all women and elders and younger ones on my timeline. SORRY!!! (sic)” wrote Sinha.
A less collection of money by a film doesn’t mean that it’s not a good film. There are so many high grossing movies with literally zero audiences engaging content any yet somehow they end up making good money.
Thappad is a film that deals with domestic violence which is a social issue. It is being loved by the audience regardless of what the box office earning says about it. The film has created a lot of buzz among the audience, last month a Twiter hashtag boycott thappad was trending on Twitter but it didn’t really bother her that much.
Both the actress and the director have expressed their concern and views against the citizenship act. Taapsee was a part of a peaceful protest in Mumbai.
