Coronavirus Outbreak Live Updates: COVID19 Confirmed Cases In India Rise To 84 On Saturday

Coronavirus Outbreak Live Updates: The situation in India getting serious after the second death of the coronavirus patient has been confirmed. Yesterday, the Health Ministry declared that a 68-year-old woman from Delhi has registered the second Indian to die from the coronavirus, which now takes the death toll to 2.

Earlier, the woman was tested positive, it was likely that the woman gets infected by her son who last month travel led to Switzerland and Italy.

In India, the first case of fatality from the virus was confirmed on Thursday, when a 76 year-old man, from the southern state of Karnataka, died after getting infected by the virus. He recently came back after a month-long visit to Saudi Arabia on 29 February.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare made the update on Saturday, stating the total number of confirmed cases across the country rise to 83, when two other persons in Maharashtra was tested positive, late Friday.

9:30 AM: Two Other Mumbai Patient Tests COVID19 Positive, Rising Total Cases To 83  

On late Friday, a patient admitted to a Mumbai’s private hospital was tested positive for coronavirus. After this, almost 80 staff members have been isolated at home, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation official told PTI. Now, the total number of infected persons in Maharashtra now rises to 19.

9: 55 AM: Death Toll In India From Coronavirus, Rises To 2

The Health Ministry confirmed a new fatal case of coronavirus in India, where a 68-year-old woman from Delhi has registered the second Indian to die from the coronavirus, which now takes the death toll to 2.

11: 11 AM: Almost 12 Lakh International Passengers Screened For Coronavirus, So Far

On Saturday, Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri stated that around 12 lakh passengers who have been coming from abroad have been screened for coronavirus at several airports, located all around the country.

11: 48 AM: 5 Coronavirus Suspects Escape From Nagpur Hospital

 A total of five suspects of COVID-19 disease has escaped from isolation wards who were admitted to Mayo Hospital, Nagpur, police officials reportedly said.

On Saturday, S Suryavanshi, Sub-Inspector Nagpur police station said ANI, that out of five suspects, one of them had tested negative, and the reports of 4 others were awaited. He added that they have found them and “they will be brought back to the hospital by the administration”

After Rajasthan ordered shut down of school and colleges in the state, other states in India (Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Manipur, Punjab) has also decided to do the same, as the number of COVID19 cases has been increasing rapidly in the country.

In the latest update of COVID19 cases in India, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said that the total number of affected persons around the country set upright at 84 as of Saturday morning.
