India is now also getting affected by Coronavirus as the scare grew in Delhi-NCR on Tuesday with two schools in Noida being shut down as a precautionary measure. This major step was taken when a parent of a student who studies there tested positive for CoVID-19.
From Agra to the National Capital Region, almost all suspected cases of coronavirus can be drawn back to one definite case from Delhi.
On February 25, the patient arrived from Vienna and commenced a trip to Agra shortly after that he then met his six family members. Everybody he has met has now been now put under quarantine at Delhi’s Safdurjung Hospital.
In addition, the other three branches of one of these schools, out of which one in south Delhi and two in Gurgaon have also advanced their spring breaks as a precaution measure. According to some latest media reports, there are about 40 students in total who have been sent to isolation confinement currently, up until the test results clear them.
On Tuesday, the health ministry also confirmed the six confirmed cases and described a “high viral load” throughout sample testing that was held in Agra. The samples, on the other hand, have been now sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) in Pune for conducting the further examination.
Two Schools in Noida named Shriram Millenium School, Noida as well as Shiv Nadar School, Noida were closed up until 9th March 2020 as the buildings and properties were to be “sanitized” as a parent, who later came back from Italy, and had tested positive for Covid-19.
The first confirmed case of Corona Virus reported belonged to a parent of a student, studies in The Sriram Millennium School, located in Noida. After the news was confirmed and spread, the Parent Community of the School has decided not to send their children to the school because of the fear of this deadly virus. At present, there is no official statement that has been issued by the administration of Sriram Millennium School regarding this coronavirus case.
The health ministry, on the other hand, is also using its Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP) network for tracing out the people who may possibly have come in contact with the other six persons isolated at Safdarjung Hospital.
It is also learned while investigating that the patient, who is a resident of Mayur Vihar, has also attended a birthday party along with his child at Hotel Hyatt Regency.
In the meantime, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also looks over the alertness level in containing the outbreak as well as treatment on Tuesday. He tweeted that different ministries along with different states are now working together, whether it is from “screening people arriving in India to providing prompt medical attention”. He made his remark after meeting the officials of Cabinet Secretary and others.
The ministry has also confirmed an additional case of Covid-19 of an Italian national in Jaipur. Some other 24 people who were in contact with the patient have been also isolated.
